Nathan Barnes is the Lead Operations Pharmacist for the Oncology Service Line at the University of North Carolina Medical Center. Nathan oversees an operational area that dispenses approximately 200 hazardous and chemotherapeutic agents on a daily basis. During his time in his current position, Dr. Barnes has lead the implementation of an automated gravimetric-based workflow system into the daily operations of the chemotherapy pharmacy and has helped to implement a home infusion program focused on decreasing the length of inpatient stay for oncology patients. Dr. Barnes received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of pharmacy in Chapel Hill. His practice interests focus on high quality and innovative approaches to cancer care.

Maurice Alexander is a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner in Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapy at the University of North Carolina (UNC) Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC and also serves as the Lead Pharmacist for Hematology/Oncology clinical pharmacy services. Dr. Alexander is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy which is also where he received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree. He completed his Pharmacy Practice and Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Residency training at UNC Medical Center and worked as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Medical Oncology at the Emory Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta, GA prior to transitioning into his current role at UNC. He is a Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist with interests that include leukemia, immuno-oncology, and clinical practice patterns throughout cancer care.

Amanda Cass is a Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Resident at the University of North Carolina (UNC) Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC and also serves as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Kentucky College Of Pharmacy in Lexington, KY and completed her Pharmacy Practice residency at Grady Health System in Atlanta, GA. She is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist with interests that include thoracic oncology, targeted therapies, and supportive care issues, including pain control and nutritional effects on chemotherapy outcomes.
